Vienna Beef History
Vienna Beef was founded in 1893 when Austria-Hungarian immigrants Emil Reichel and Sam Ladany introduced their family frankfurter recipe to their fellow Chicagoans at the legendary Columbian Exposition. The hot dog was a hit, and Vienna Beef was born. More than 100 years later, they are still making sausages the old-fashioned way, with premium domestic beef and an original recipe, made to the highest of quality standards and hickory-smoked for authentic flavor.
Today, Vienna Beef today is a whole lot more than hot dogs. Headquartered in Chicago, Vienna manufactures and distributes a wide variety of foods, from flagship sausages and deli meats to the World Famous Chicago Style Hot Dog. Most Vienna products are cooked in small batches, and food safety processes are state-of-the-art. Vienna Beef hot dogs are known the world over as one of the best tasting, highest
quality all beef hot dogs in existence.
